The World of Tomalav

The Castle Sampre

The party, trusting Helmut followed him north toward the castle. He told them that there was a secret entrance, that they would have to follow him into this cave. The party did not totally trust him for good reason for he truly was a backstaber. Trying to crush the party with stones in a trap, Helmut, soon discovered the party wasn’t so easily killed off. A great fight ensued as we all know good triumphs over evil as long as there’s a well-placed arrow in the neck of evil. The party pressed on to the castle, four hours later finding the ancient castle of King Sampre. Upon their arrival they saw that a small band of adventurers had beaten them to it. Following close behind the adventurers, the wizard Dayin discovered bats do bite. The party decided to explore the surrounding area of the castle before further adventuring inside. They found a well, the fighter Fendrel (not known for his intelligence) came up with the idea to lower the Ranger down the well. At this time, I would like to let all adventurers know, ghouls love Ranger on a rope, in fact they delight in the site of a Ranger on a rope. After rethinking the dangling of the Ranger on a rope, and the Ranger getting attacked the party pulls the Ranger to safety. With the great help from the wizard Dayin the Ghouls were put on ice, the party then descended into the dungeon. It is said that they found great riches in the fighter Fendrel adopted a pet or maybe the pet adopted him.

Once upon a time

I sit here with you now, in the very tavern where it all began. The fair maiden Leala was found dead in the meadow not far from here to the north, just beyond the the wheat fields. Her traveling friend Helmut, had said they were exploring a castle they had found When a horde of Orc’s attacked. But Orc’s don’t stab you in the back….

If you have time I will tell you of the story of those five adventures, those Hero’s. For I know all about them, you see, I am The Golden Troubadour.

There is Elenrian, the beautiful young Elf Ranger and her trusted friend Fendrel, the noble fighter, who’s quick wit and even quicker sword keeps evil at bay. They found Datyin, the old elf mage to be a strong ally in the search for adventure. Then I tell you of Lyander Moringstar, Elf, a “finder of things”. Finally the last and most puzzling one Ted “son of Edward” the Holy man. Why a man of his deep faith would travel with this band, it most certainly is a test from his God.

It was in the year of Eluth, following the march of the Orc horde that destroyed most of King’s Eldridge’s castles and armies. Lord Valdislaus drove the Orc’s and their allies back to the north to the Mountains of Shadows. Then Proclaimed himself King of Tomalav. King Eldridge’s mage Jafan escaped the Orc invasion and Lord Valdislaus’s crowning and had created an Army of undead to start his own rule and crush Lord Valdislaus, but early in the winter of that season the exalted Paladin Abaddon killed Jafan and a small army of skeletons thus clearing the way for peace in the land under King Valdislaus. Peace was short lived, as King Valdislaus grew tired of peace…..for he was a man of War. The next 50 years there was war after war, between King Valdislaus and the Knights of the Eye order. The current King King Roland is a Paladin of the Knights of Eye order and has ruled for the last 17 years……but the struggle continues.

There are 5 young adventurers, follow the tales of their adventures as they begin in The World of Tomalav!

Welcome to your Adventure Log!
A blog for your campaign

Every campaign gets an Adventure Log, a blog for your adventures!

While the wiki is great for organizing your campaign world, it’s not the best way to chronicle your adventures. For that purpose, you need a blog!

The Adventure Log will allow you to chronologically order the happenings of your campaign. It serves as the record of what has passed. After each gaming session, come to the Adventure Log and write up what happened. In time, it will grow into a great story!

Best of all, each Adventure Log post is also a wiki page! You can link back and forth with your wiki, characters, and so forth as you wish.

One final tip: Before you jump in and try to write up the entire history for your campaign, take a deep breath. Rather than spending days writing and getting exhausted, I would suggest writing a quick “Story So Far” with only a summary. Then, get back to gaming! Grow your Adventure Log over time, rather than all at once.
